What is it called?

There are a few problems when you start looking for used industrial racking. The first, and probably, the biggest problem you will find with searching for industrial racking that is used is that the industry does not call it “industrial racking.” A search for that term might not turn up very much because people are not talking about that product in that way. You will experience a disconnect between you and your customers. Why? It is because there is a disconnect between what you call it and what the search engine has for information about that topic.

What is Industrial Racking Called?

Industrial racking is called pallet racking. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are many different types of pallet racking. It is similar to a sport ball of some sort. If you see a ball, but did not know the name, then you might have problems asking for one. Leather may be one of your descriptive words for this item. You may mention the ball contains air. Eventually, you would learn that it is called a basketball. The ball then could be one of several balls like a football, a soccer ball, a basketball, or whatever it might be. In this case, the pallet rack would be similar to the word ball. The different types of pallet racks, like the ball, all fit into the category and are still, technically, pallet rack. The pallet rack types are selective, pushback rack, cantilever rack, pallet flow rack, drive-in rack, and there is even radio shuttle rack. Some of these racks are more used than others. For example, you probably are not going to see very many radio shuttle racks out there. They are uncommon in the world. Also, if a company is going to shell out the money to have an automated pallet rack system that makes use of radio-controlled machines then they are unlikely to get rid of it. However, a common system, like a selective rack will be much easier to find because it is common.

Which version are you looking for used?

If you are using a FIFO system in your business then you are probably looking for the pallet flow system, or, at least, you should be considering it. FIFO systems help a business use the first in first out system which you find many food-related warehouses using. Sometimes, people do not realize this exists so they start out looking for selective pallet racks or industrial racking for storage. Selective rack is what most people think of when they think of industrial shelving systems. It because it is most like your shelves at home. It allows you to select whichever product you want off the shelf without a system behind it like a pallet flow system or a pushback system. If you are not looking for a selective rack then the most likely rack you are looking for, after that, is a cantilever rack. Traditionally, these racks hold pipes or lumber.

Is it possible to used racks?

We carry used pallet rack in many different styles. You will not find them listed on our website. Yet, we do have them for sale. All you have to do is call us. Let us know what you are looking for and we can see if we can accommodate you. Keep in mind that this does not mean you cannot get a new product for a similar price. We sometimes carry a generic brand that is brand new. Moreover, many of these are close to the same quality as the name brands. This might be the best way to go if price is an issue.  Obviously, it works if you are ok with not paying extra for the name of a brand.
